Environmental Specialties International, Inc. (ESI) was founded in 1996 as a geosynthetics liner installation company specializing in municipal and hazardous waste landfill applications. As the landfill market has changed over the years, ESI has grown to become a full service landfill construction company specializing in civil earthwork construction and the installation of leachate collection systems, landfill gas systems and leachate forcemain systems while still maintaining the status of being one of the leading geosynthetic installers in the nation.
Since its inception, ESI has formed key partnerships with leading geosynthetic manufacturers allowing ESI to become a cost competitive installer offering supply and installations of numerous types of geosynthetic liners, geocomposite/geonets, engineered non-woven geotextiles, high strength geogrids and geotextiles and various other geosynthetic materials used in the civil and landfill construction market.
Over the years, ESI has also become a leading geosynthetic installer for the environmental remediation market completing numerous remedial closure projects, lining of corrective action management units (CAMU), and lining of holding ponds used in the environmental marketplace. ESI’s employees have obtained hazardous waste operations training (HAZWOPER 1910.120) necessary to perform construction activities in the environmental market. In addition to this training, our crews have been rigorously trained in landfill gas extraction systems giving them the necessary qualification to do an array of different jobs. All of ESI’s safety programs have been administered by a full time health and safety coordinator located at our Baton Rouge, Louisiana, operations center.
